Unique Bridesmaids Proposal Ideas

Unique Bridesmaids Proposal Ideas

When wedding planning, there are many factors that require your attention and many decisions to be made. Choosing the venue, the flowers, the colors, the menu, and more can be somewhat stressful. Deer Creek Golf Club understands all of this, which is why we offer our help and guidance along the way, including providing a day-of coordinator to those who use our venue for their weddings.

One decision our South Florida wedding venue can’t help the bride make is who they want standing up there with them on the big day. Bridesmaids are often some of the bride’s family and close friends that support and love the new chapter in their loved one’s life. A trend that is growing more popular is proposing to the bridesmaids. It is best to ask them within two to three months of getting engaged or sooner. This will give everyone time to plan and be a part of all the pre-wedding activities. This will also allow them time to block out their calendars for the festivities and financially prepare.

Our professionals at our wedding venue have seen some unique bridesmaid proposal ideas that we want to share with our readers!

What Are Good Bridal Proposal Gifts?

When choosing bridal proposal gifts, there are a few routes that can be taken. The gift can be something that speaks personally to each person or something that is fun for them to use. Some of the most popular options are wine tumblers, jewelry that can be worn to the wedding, or personalized totes and bags for the bachelorette trip or the day of the wedding. Anything fun, creative, and useful is always the best type of proposal idea! Here are some other gifts for fun bridesmaid proposals.

Champagne Bath Bombs

Bridesmaid’s proposal gifts don’t always have to be super practical. You can get them fun champagne-shaped bath bombs to “pop the question”  to them. A mini champagne bottle can also be added to a little basket along with a special message for them. You can add some OJ to the basket so they can enjoy some delicious mimosas.

Chocolates

If you know your soon-to-be bridesmaid has a sweet tooth, then chocolates are a great gift idea. Include a sweet message inside, along with a guide to what flavor the chocolates are. This can act as a personal gift or just a fun one for your sweet loving friend or family member.

Cozy Matching Socks or Pajama Sets

Cozy socks or matching pajama sets are a perfect gift if you are planning a trip with your bridesmaids for a bachelorette party or for the day of the wedding to get ready. This will be cute for pictures and an easy gift to put together. At Deer Creek, our wedding venue has beautiful landscapes and gardens that are the perfect backdrop for a wedding party before getting dressed (in the matching pajama sets) and after in the bridesmaid dresses.

Matching Passport Holders

If you plan on traveling out of the country for your bachelorette trip, then give your group trendy matching passport holders.

Personalized Bags and Jackets

Though common, one of the most popular gifts to give bridesmaids is personalized jackets and/or bags! Have denim jackets made with their names on them, or just purchase matching jackets that can be used again after your wedding. Everyone loves a practical gift that will last longer than the event, and jackets and bags are the perfect gifts for that.

There are many unique bridesmaids’ proposal ideas out there that can be used, so think about your bridesmaids and what would be special or unique to them.

Spring Weddings

Spring Weddings

Spring is finally here and love is in the air! Between the warmer weather and the new blooms all around it’s one of the best times for nuptials. Deer Creek Golf Club is here to help pull off a great spring wedding, at the perfect venue. While springtime is busy with all the prom-goers and spring breakers, there are plenty of ways to pull off your special day in the midst of it.

There are a variety of things to focus on for a successful spring wedding, we have narrowed some of those for you.

The Flowers

One of the best parts of a spring wedding is that everything is in bloom at this time. There is such a wide range of stems in-season to dress up your wedding with. Peonies, tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths, nature supplies some of the most beautiful decorations. Cherry blossoms, dogwood, wheatgrass, herbs, and moss are great non-traditional touches to your floral arrangements. Deer Creek ballroom is adjacent to the beautiful outdoor gardens and country club. We are also an outdoor wedding venue with lush landscaping and an amazon cascading waterfall.

Spring Wedding Colors

Springtime is for pastels and softer but beautiful colors. When planning out your color palette,  here are some wedding themes for spring:

  • Blue, Purple, and Pink: softer, cooler shades are always a great way to go. Pops of these colors bring a subtle but radiant touch to your centerpieces, napkins, drapery, and even table cloths.
  • Pink, Orange, White: Using various shades of pinks and oranges against white will add a bright splash of color in a classic way to your wedding day. They are happy hues for a reason, why not have them surrounding the happiest of days?
  • Shades of Pink: Pink is incredibly versatile due to its many different shades. It will let you bring a soft pop of color or a brighter one!
  • Warms Hues and Green: One of the most popular spring wedding colors are the subdued shades that also bring brightness. Using saturated fiery reds, oranges, and yellows mixed in with warm greens is a fantastic way to go.
  • Red, Pink, and White: This is a classy way to incorporate color into your big day. Dark reds mellowed out with softer shades of pinks and white are great for Spring.

What to Wear to a Spring Wedding?

Finding the perfect dress or outfit is one of the biggest parts of your wedding day. Choosing between a sexy or classy wedding dress can be a lot, but there are also new spring wedding dress trends to consider:

  • Bridal Dresses With Floral Motifs
  • Deep V Necklines Dresses
  • Puff Sleeve Wedding Gowns
  • Mini Wedding Dresses
  • Minimalist Bridal  Gowns
  • Sexy Silhouette Gowns
  • Thigh-High Slits Bridal Gowns

For the grooms, it’s all about what fabric their suit is made from. We recommend cotton suits because they are a nice, lightweight option, especially for outdoor weddings in South Florida

How to Master the Natural Makeup Look

How to Master the Natural Makeup Look

The Natural Makeup Look

With wedding season approaching, many brides have been planning for months, running walkthroughs, booking vendor after vendor, and looking for venues for all of their wedding-related events, such as bridal shower venues. One vendor they have probably booked is a makeup artist. Brides want to look their absolute best on their big day, but they still want to look like themselves.

The “No Makeup” makeup look is a top ask from brides that a wedding makeup artist must fulfill. Soft glam makeup is one look that highlights the bride’s natural features while covering any discoloration or insecurities. But how do you achieve natural bridal makeup?

Here is what you’ll need to do to achieve the perfect “No Makeup” look:

  •   Apply your regular skincare routine (prep first to make sure the skin is hydrated)
  •   Use a pore-filling or gripping primer
  •   Find a medium/buildable coverage foundation that fits your skin type
  •   Under the eyes, use a concealer one or two shades lighter than the foundation
  •   Set your foundation with a translucent or setting powder
  •   Work with a bronzer or heavy contouring to accent the shape of your face
  •   Blush should be lightly applied and a complementing shade to your skin tone
  •   Highlighter is optional but, if used, should be put on the high point of the face

Wedding Day Makeup Prep

A proper skincare routine is key to a more flawless makeup application. As a bride, if you don’t already have them, you should test out a few skincare products weeks before your wedding day. It is recommended to give your skin some time to adjust to the new products or see if they have any reaction. Another important tip is to consult with a skincare professional before testing any new products.

When it comes to finding all the right shades of foundations, concealers, and powders, the wedding makeup artist should know how to see the skin tone and undertones of a bride’s skin. This is why most artists will recommend a “trial” run a few weeks or months in advance to establish which shades and which look the bride will need and want.

Getting the “No Makeup” Makeup Look

To achieve the natural makeup look, you want it to look like the makeup is barely there. A light to medium buildable coverage foundation is integral in this process. It allows you to even out the skin tone while covering any blemishes or discoloration. For the rest of the face, the artist doing this bridal makeup should have a light hand and shouldn’t be packing on the products, which would make any face look cakey. Lightly bronzing instead of intensely contouring, feathering brows and not having sculpted out ones, and choosing a natural pink or nude lip with a gloss on top are additional features that help create a natural bridal look. The eyeshadows should be neutral and, once again, a compliment to the bride’s skin tone. Adding a shimmer or highlight to the eyes, bridge and tip of the nose, high points of the cheeks, and the cupid’s bow on the upper lip will leave you with a subtle but very bridal glow. Applying the highlighter to the points of the face where the light naturally hits is what brings this glow to life.

Best Bridal Shower Gifts for the Bride-to-Be

Finding the perfect bridal shower gift can be a challenge, especially if the bride is a really close friend and you want the gift to be memorable and special. Bridal shower gift ideas can either be traditional or out of the box depending on the bride’s wish list and taste. When in doubt, there is nothing wrong with a gift that’s a little bit of both worlds. If you are getting ready to attend a bridal shower but are having a hard time coming up with the perfect gift, these are some of the best and most unique bridal shower gift ideas to make your search easier!

Classic Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

If you are looking for a more traditional gift, here are some classic bridal shower gift ideas you can choose from for the bride-to-be.

Dessert Stand
When a couple decides to get married, they are likely already living together or are setting their sights on becoming homeowners. The purchasing of a home is usually followed by a housewarming party, and a housewarming party usually has cake! No dessert table is complete without a dessert stand, whether there is a beautiful chocolate cake or a variety of cupcakes, a dessert stand will always come in handy and makes one of the best bridal shower gifts.

Placemats
Simple and easy, placemats make the perfect statement piece in the dining room and kitchen. Gift the bride-to-be a set of placemats that accentuate the dining area in their home with a splash of color or choose a set that complements a theme or vibe they have going.

Picture Frame
One of the best bridal shower gift ideas is a beautiful picture frame. A frame can be used in many different ways around a home as accent pieces or the focal point of the room. Picture frames can hold memories of you and the bride or her own memories that she will make in her marriage.

Champagne Glasses
The most timeless bridal shower gift idea is a pair of champagne glasses. The champagne glasses can be used on the day of the wedding for a toast and even on the couple’s anniversary. As a special touch, have the champagne glasses etched with the bride and groom’s names or their wedding date.

Unique Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

If the classic bridal shower gift is not what you are looking for, here are some unique bridal shower gift ideas for you to consider as you’re shopping for the bride-to-be!

Cookbook for Newlyweds
Help the new couple make their first dinner together with a newlywed cookbook from your favorite chef or homemaker. This unique bridal shower gift idea is one that keeps on giving! Over time, the couple can find their favorite recipes and make their signature dishes on special occasions, like their anniversary or the holidays.

Personalized Sun Hat
If your bride enjoys some fun in the sun, there is no way that you can go wrong with a personalized beach hat. Have a cute saying sewn into the brim or the bride’s new last name if she is changing it.

Personalized Doormat
Whether the newlyweds have a home or are planning to move in together, a personalized doormat is the perfect unique bridal shower gift idea. Customize a simple doormat with the couple’s last name and the year of their marriage to welcome them home as newlyweds.

SOS: Wedding Day Emergency Kit

SOS: Wedding Day Emergency Kit

It’s almost time to walk down the aisle and you may be feeling anxious, which is normal for any bride. Worrying robs you of enjoying this special moment in your life. Nevertheless, it’s important to keep a wedding day emergency kit on hand to help make sure everything goes smoothly on your special day. We’ll show you what to include in your ultimate wedding emergency kit so you can enjoy your special day at our South Florida country club.

Super Glue/Clear Nail Polish

Have a run in your nylons and tights? Include a clear nail polish in your wedding day emergency kit to spread a quick coat over the tear to prevent them from running any further. For broken jewelry or shoes, have super glue on hand to fix any defective accessories.

Makeup

As you’re getting ready for your wedding day, not everything may go as planned; for example, your makeup artist may arrive late. Having your own makeup stash on hand ensures your face will be made up as you walk down the aisle. For your wedding emergency kit, include makeup such as mascara, eyeliner, foundation, lipstick, and blotting papers to freshen up your makeup look throughout the day.

Sewing Kit

Among the hustle and bustle of getting ready for your wedding day, you or your bridesmaids may have snags, tears, or loose threads in your dresses. The best remedy for this is a sewing kit. This will make surviving your wedding day that much easier as everything seems to move so fast.

Your wedding day is a special day for you and your other half and having a wedding day emergency kit with you during the day will make you less anxious. Want to know about holding your wedding at our South Florida country club? Contact our staff to find out more information.
