How to Save Money on Golf Costs

When you first think of golf, you may think of how pricey the sport can be. Or you may already be an avid golf player looking to cut back on their golfing costs. Either way, cutting back on the cost of golf is very much possible. Check out our tips on how to play golf on a budget.

Invest in a Membership

Since it’s a buyer’s market in the economy, it’s time to take advantage of it for the sake of your wallet. When practicing golf on a budget, try to sign up for a membership. You can find golf membership deals at various South Florida golf courses such as monthly credits, a few months of no fees, and so much more.

Buy Secondhand Clubs

You don’t always have to impress your friends with the newest and latest golf club on the market. When you shop on sites like PGA and 3Balls, you’ll get used, but top-notch golf clubs, recycled golf balls, and other golf equipment at a fraction of the original price.

Play Off-Season

If you’re looking of another way to play golf on a budget, play during the fall and winter seasons when there are fewer golfers on the courses. Besides golf courses being in prime condition, you’ll also find some great end-of-season deals on apparel and equipment. Along with the seasonal golf membership deals, you can go searching for balls on the courses as the trees are bare.

Playing golf doesn’t have to be expensive. Practicing golf on a budget is something you can do while enjoying your favorite sport and saving money. Contact us anytime if you have any questions about our golf club membership deals or any other way to save money while playing your favorite sport!

Are South Florida Summer Golf Memberships Worth It?

South Florida summer golf memberships are discounted golf rates handed out every year. It’s definitely worth it, 100%, no question. However, there are naysayers out there that will disagree. So, listen up naysayers, this article is for you!

Why Are Summer Golf Club Memberships in South Florida Cheaper?

Let’s address this once and for all. South Florida is a little on the warm side. What some may call hot and humid, the local, real South Floridians call a nice day for golf.

Summer golf memberships, specifically those on South Florida golf courses, are tailored towards the locals. We expect that most of you are used to the heat at this point. You’re better off taking the summer discount than not playing at all for five months.

Why Even Bother Getting a Membership?

Why bother getting a summer golf membership when you can just go from course to course all summer long, while never having to worry about a membership fee?

  1. You’ll spend a lot more golfing on one course that you like, than multiple courses all summer long.
  2. You have a better chance at improving your game and getting that handicap under control by maintaining a routine at a local golf course.
  3. Because you’re a golfer, and staying at home all summer is not your idea of a great time. Right?

How Much Are Summer Golf Memberships?

We don’t mean to brag, but Deer Creek Golf Club has the best summer golf membership prices out there. We give much more, for much less.

Still unsure? Take a look at these two articles and decide if you should get a summer golf membership and when you should plan your summer golf trip to South Florida. Go the extra mile and take a tour of our championship golf course in South Florida today!

Golf Club Memberships or Virtual Reality Golf?

Will virtual reality replace good old fashioned golf club memberships? Although some suggest that the educational aspect of VR coupled with the fact that you can practice from the comfort of your home may seem appealing, the technology is still just a novelty. Nothing can beat professional golf lessons in South Florida sun, the open air, smells, and experience of a round on a real, championship golf course.

Have you ever wanted to play a round of golf on the moon? Dell and HTC have partnered to make this happen, and both companies are setting up tents at every PGA tour location to offer a lunar game to spectators. The inflatable tent creates a moon-like atmosphere and attendees are given a headset when they walk in. The idea of hitting golf balls on the moon comes from the Apollo 14 mission when Alan Shepard famously played a very clumsy round of golf on the lunar surface. Admittedly, it is probably difficult to use the correct posture in those suits, and Mr. Shepard had an experience that no golf club membership could compete with.

The advancements in virtual reality are pushing the technology even further into the public domain. The current focus has been to create images that are both stimulated and realistic. There is no way for virtual reality to have an effect on the human body, so playing a round of golf can be visually interesting but doesn’t yet compete with the physical activity that a golfer gets on the green. Lessons and golf club memberships are still the go-to methods to enjoy the wonderful game of golf and learn to play. Bing Crosby Biography Reveals He Had 75 Golf Club Memberships

If you are a golf enthusiast and are looking for an interesting biography or book that details the love of the game, try 18 Holes with Bing: Golf, Life and Lessons from Dad by Bing Crosby’s son Nathaniel. One of the most interesting aspects of the American legend was his absolute love and devotion to the game of golf. It was later discovered that he had 75 golf club memberships and was paying dues on almost all of them.

Championship golf courses in South Florida will say that Bing Crosby forever changed the world of golf. He is responsible for creating the first Pro-Am (professional-amateur) tournament, which is still played today and is known as the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. His tournament structure was copied and is still the standard of almost all golf tournaments in the world. He also created the glass cup trophy styles that are common in almost all golf tournaments, including the Augusta National. However, Crosby did much more than just holding a lot of golf club memberships and creating the glass cup; Crosby lived and breathed the game.

Although famous for his vocal talents, Crosby was a strong golf player. Bing Crosby died in 1977 from a heart attack. He had just finished a game on a professional golf course in Spain, and some of his last words were: “That was a great game of golf”. The book, written by his son, was released on May 3, 2016, and if you consider yourself a big fan of golf, it is a must read.
