2021 Wedding Dress Trends

They say once you’ve got the venue and the dress, planning your wedding is a breeze. Well, our wedding venue in South Florida is a beautiful location for a wedding and our event coordinators are sharing some of the wedding dress trends in 2021 to help you choose the gown of your dreams! You’re halfway there already.

Bohemian Vibes

“I’m not a regular bride, I’m a cool bride.” Bohemian or boho-style wedding dresses have evolved into a staple of bridal fashion. Bohemian brides look ethereal and glamorous, relaxed and timeless. The 2021 wedding dress trends indicate that bohemian wedding dresses can suit any venue from a beach to a ballroom when styled appropriately.

Capes

Want to ditch the traditional veil? Incorporate a cape in your wedding dress instead of a veil for something out of the norm. Opt for a minimal-style cape for a bold, powerful look or kick it up a notch with an elaborate design or a long train.

Colorful Dresses

Wedding dresses aren’t always white, but it’s been the predominant color choice among brides for decades – until now. Wedding dress trends of 2021 show that color is making a comeback. Blush tones and pastels are making their mark, especially for upcoming spring weddings.

Dramatic Sleeves

The popular Netflix shows Bridgerton and The Crown, whose latest season features Princess Diana’s infamous wedding gown, have inspired the dramatic sleeve wedding dress trend of 2021 that’s very in-demand at the moment. Balloon, Billow, and Bishop sleeves are having their movie moment this year.

Whether you are getting married at a church or a country club in South Florida, you will look like a star.

Off-the-Shoulder Dresses

Wedding designers are obsessed with off-the-shoulder dresses, taking inspiration from Meghan Markle and Hailey Baldwin. The two stars have made this style one of the top wedding dress trends of 2021. Since the trendy silhouette can be both romantic and elegant, brides are opting for this classic bridal look.

Overskirts

More and more brides want their wedding dress in 2021 to be fashionable and functional. The wedding dress industry solution? Overskirts. Overskirts allow brides to have a dramatic wedding style for the ceremony and the pictures will look incredible, but they’re also removable so brides can dance the night away at the reception.

Ruffles

If you want to feel like a mermaid on your wedding day, opt for a wedding dress with ruffles. Wedding dress designers including Marchesa are featuring dramatic ruffles in 2021.

Short Dresses

Short dresses are becoming one of the wedding dress trends of 2021. More brides are selecting short dresses as micro weddings are becoming more popular due to COVID-19. They are also perfect for outdoor spring and summer weddings and can be worn over and over again.

Square Necklines

Another one of the wedding dress trends in 2021 is square necklines, which generally flatter many silhouettes. A square neckline gives a dynamic geometric shape to the bodice of a wedding dress.

Subtle Shimmer

Brides literally shine on their wedding day as they walk down the aisle wearing shimmery wedding gowns. While lavish sparkles and bling in wedding gowns aren’t going away, this 2021 wedding dress trend is more about a subtle shimmer that casts a more ethereal glow around the bride. This subtle shimmer wedding dress style looks particularly lovely at dusk or in the evening at an outdoor wedding reception.
